Our UMH process
The inductive UMH process (Uniform Magnetic Heating) uses a low-frequency magnetic field for heating. Within this alternating magnetic field, components can be uniformly monitored and heated in a low-tension manner.
The UMH process is suitable for the following applications:
- Pre-heating/post-heating
- Reduction of internal stress
- Shrinking
- Demagnetization
- Heat treatment before forming
Machine types
pro-beam offers three machine types for various component sizes, with S-, M- and L-Lines. In addition, there are also various configuration levels possible upon request. These machines can be used as an integrated module or as a standalone system. This ensures a high level of flexibility when integrating UMH machines into industrial production processes.
The compact UMH S-Line is commonly used as an integrated module in interlinked systems (e.g. pro-beam Gearline). It offers perfect conditions for heating smaller components such as gear wheels for the automotive industry.
Alternatively, the UMH L-Line was designed for workpieces up to 30 kg and the L-Line was designed for large components with a weight of up to 50 kg. Both machines can achieve temperatures in the workpiece up to 500 degrees Celsius.
